Where to drill the hole for the housing?

We provide templates as a suggested spot to drill for the housing location, however, the hole can be drilled in any spot that makes sense for your application.

Which wires connect to the M1 lock?

The M1 lock has a blue and a green wire that need to be connected to your existing lock motor wires. The wires can be identified by reviewing the web page pertaining to your van, however, this is only a suggestion as the wires in your door may be different. Lock motor wires are usually larger in diameter than other wires and should be tested with a power meter.

My lock works in the opposite direction.

Simply switch the green and blue wires if any lock is operating in reverse.

My lock is not working after I've connected the wires.

Make sure all of the doors are shut and latched during testing.

My van door is ajar and the deadbolt is engaged and the door won't open.

Push the door shut (taking pressure off of the deadbolt) and then press your key fob to disengage the deadbolt. We always recommend unlocking the Thunderbolt ® locks first and then the factory locks.

My lock is not working in one of my doors.

It is possible that the actuator has failed or if you have an M2 lock it may be a failed circuit board or blown fuse. It is also possible a drive cable in not functioning correctly. Open the lock case to examine the interior and contact us.

My rivets are loose.

We recommend using an electric rivet gun or when using a hand rivet gun press firmly when pulling the handle. You can drill out loose rivets and reinstall new ones.

My side door deadbolt does not move after connected.

When a side sliding door is in the open position there is usually no power going to the door since it gets it's power via a contact switch. Test the door in the closed position.
