Installation Examples

Please note that the photos are for example purposes only. Installation methods may vary due to the different van models or years. There is no specific location where the lock must be installed, as it offers flexibility and a universal fit.

Templates

Thunderbolt offers downloadable templates designed for a wide range of vehicles, primarily based on late-model vans. While these templates are a helpful starting point, they may not perfectly match your specific vehicle. However, the universal design of our locks means they can be installed in various locations on your vehicle, as long as the deadbolt can securely engage with the strike hole.

Isolation Relays

Using isolation relays when installing Thunderbolt M1 Locks in the front doors of a Sprinter is indeed a crucial step to ensure proper functionality and prevent issues like "chattering" of the locks. The isolation relays serve to separate the lock's power draw from the vehicle's main lock circuit, minimizing the current draw.
