Lock Conversion Relay (LCR)

If your van’s lock system is vulnerable to a thief breaking a front window, opening the door, and pressing the unlock button to access your cargo area, the Thunderbolt LCR (Lock Control Relay) is the solution you need. The LCR prevents unauthorized unlocking via door switches. Install one LCR at the BCM (Body Control Module) or two for added security at both door switches.

How to Test Your Locks:

1. Roll down your front window and close all doors.
2. Lock your van using the key fob.
3. Wait a few minutes for the system to enter its dormant state.
4. Reach through the window, open the door using the interior handle, and press the unlock button.
5. Now, check if the rear cargo doors have unlocked.

If the cargo doors unlocked during the test, the Thunderbolt LCR will prevent this from happening. In the event of a window break and door opening, the LCR ensures that the unlock button will be disabled, preventing unauthorized access. However, the unlock function will still work when the key is inserted into the ignition, and your key fob will always operate as usual.
